Our Story

Brandon Parkhurst, CPA, CFP, CVA, CGMA, is the founder and president of Parkhurst Consulting CPA PC. For more than 20 years, he has focused on helping dentists transform their practices into strong, sustainable businesses that support both their day-to-day needs and long-term financial goals. He brings together tax strategy, comprehensive financial planning, and practice analytics to provide clear, actionable guidance tailored to private practice owners.

Over the course of his career, Brandon has advised hundreds of private dental practices on profitability, cash flow, compensation design, debt strategy, and retirement planning. He is known for translating complex financial concepts into straightforward language and practical steps, so owners can make confident decisions instead of feeling overwhelmed by the numbers.

Brandon earned both his BBA and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He began his career at Ernst & Young and later joined Cain Watters & Associates, where he worked extensively with dentists of all types. That experience, combined with his formal training as both a CPA and Certified Financial Planner, gives him a unique perspective on how a dental practice and a family’s personal finances fit together.

Off the clock, Brandon is happiest outside, usually out for a run, and never turns down a good dose of slapstick comedy. His favorite place to be is with his wife, Stefani, their daughter, Jenna, and his four-legged sidekick, Jack the dog.

Kathryn Ward, MPA

Business Relationship Coordinator

Kathryn, known to clients and friends as Katey, is often the first friendly face that practice owners connect with at Parkhurst Consulting. As Business Relationship Coordinator, she makes sure dentists never feel like they are navigating the business side of their practice alone. Katey helps practice owners understand what their numbers are really saying so they can make confident decisions for their future.

She brings a strong academic and service-oriented background to her work. She holds a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and an MPA from Texas State University. Katey began her career in the nonprofit world, where she developed a mission-driven approach to all things.

Clients know Katey for her responsive communication, impressive organization, and easy sense of humor. She prides herself on building genuine relationships and becoming a trusted partner to the practices she supports.

Outside of work, Katey is an unapologetic dog lover and devoted fan of British comedy. She is also passionate about her local community and organizes an annual food drive, one of her favorite traditions and another way she lives out her belief that both work and life should make a positive impact.

Stefani Parkhurst

External Relations Coordinator

Stefani serves as the Director of External Relations for Parkhurst Consulting CPA PC, a role that leverages her unique skill set acquired from years as an early education special education teacher and a real estate professional. When asked about the transition from teaching children to working with CPAs and dentists, Stefani usually just smiles and says the patience required is roughly the same, but the CPAs are slightly less likely to use glitter.

In her role, Stefani focuses on fostering strong relationships within our professional networks and community, ensuring that the firm’s outreach aligns with our mission of empowering dental and medical practice owners. Her background in real estate provides a practical, real-world understanding of property dynamics, which is valuable when clients discuss expanding their practices or making investment decisions. She helps bridge the gap between financial theory and real life (where things don't always reconcile perfectly).

Stefani is committed to building lasting relationships and providing value in every interaction. She enjoys working alongside her husband, Brandon, the firm's founder and shareholder, to help clients navigate their paths to long-term financial success.

When she isn't managing external relations or navigating the housing market, Stefani is a lifelong learner who loves staying active. She can often be found enjoying gym time, hiking local trails, diving into a good book as an avid reader, catching live music performances, or indulging her passion for musical theatre with her family. A proud Texas Tech alumnus, she still knows how to "wreck 'em" when necessary. Stefani, Brandon, their daughter, and their beloved dog, Jack (the best ChiWeeniePoo), reside in Georgetown, Texas.
