Writing a Business Plan Series – Step 6: Products & Services
Writing a business plan can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.
So far, we have covered step 1: determining audience; step 2: defining mission, vision, and core values; step 3: company description; step 4: market analysis; and step 5: SWOT analysis. Step 6 is writing the products and services section.
The products and services section describes what you are selling, focusing on patient benefits. Include details about your suppliers, services costs, your competitive advantage, and the net revenue you expect to generate.
Include the following points:
1. Service DescriptionWhat services will you provide, and how do they benefit your patients?
2. Service ComparisonWhat makes your services unique or better than your competitors? Why would a patient choose you over someone else?
3. Sales StrategyHow will you market your services? Are your vendors lined up?
4. RequirementsWhat equipment and technology will you need?
5. Pictures & DiagramsPut pictures and diagrams in the appendix, but refer to them in the products and services section.
